Davis Nominated for Hurston/Wright Legacy Award

Congratulations to assistant professor of poetry Geffrey Davis, who has been nominated for the prestigious Hurston/Wright Legacy Award in poetry! Steve recently gave a reading at the Eudora Welty House in Jackson, Mississippi, where he opened with a tribute to the University of Arkansas and to the incomparable Jim Whitehead, poet, novelist, and co-founder of our program.

Clark Wins Harvard Fellowship


Graduating translation student Clayton Clark has earned a prestigious fellowship from the Center for Arabic Study Abroad at Harvard University! The fellowship sends Clayton to Amman, Jordan, for a year of intensive Arabic language study, where he'll continue to work on his literary translation projects. Congratulations, Clayton!
